Moving again... Down the hallway!

Pati, what do ya think? Here's the new set up for Gus' old room.. I finally decided to go ahead and move in to his room. I found a few minutes to sit down and actually measure everything out to find a nice way to set up the room. It may be overkill, but I guess I'm a bit of a nerd anyways. Let me know what you think of the color, too.

So, you may be thinking, how has student teaching been?

It's been good! The first few days of band camp have been relatively painless, if you ignore the suffocating humidity we've been experiencing. I've FINALLY "directed" or led a group with a significant amount of people.. And I was pretty nervous. The past two days we've been working on basics block, so it's pretty much only consisted of yelling "band, dress right" or "band, hace left". Since this is the first time that I've ever done something like this, I've been a little shaky, forgetting commands here and there, although I do know all of them. I've definitely been thrown into this, but I'm definitely grateful for the experience. In this area of music, I'm embarrassed to say, you are probably more proficient than me in. Hopefully that will change in the future.

Something that has kind of gotten me through these mornings has been my daily 2 cups of coffee before I leave, so I'm pretty wired and energetic. The kids are good. I'm having a hard time connecting with the drumline.. that's really the only group of kids I've been shying away from; hopefully that changes. I've been keeping a "student teaching journal" to look back on throughout the year. If you ever want a transcript, let me know.

I've seen quite a bit of random, interesting articles on the web recently. I'll hopefully start putting those up. Things seem to be picking up a little bit more, busy-wise. Thank god.

life is definitely a rollercoaster.

one minute, its hard to see things clearly: youre running around with your head cut off, with feelings all over the place. with priorities mixed up, confused as hell as to what to do or say. the next, youre on cloud nine, and couldnt be happier. i didnt realize how easy it to fall into and out of feelings and emotions. but in the end, everything works out. and everything happens for a reason.

as of late, things have been on the up. last week, i was nervous about my planning for the weekend. one obstacle after another. so many sacrifices, so many decisions. it all worked out great though. i definitely feel horrible for missing the semi-formal. and im so sorry to kristyn :-(, im an asshole (i'll make it up to you!!) i know i havent been to a whole lot events here at the frat, but things have been so crazy as of late, yeah... but this weekend was exactly what i needed. kind of a vacation. getting to see meghan was somethin i needed at the time more than anything, and im so glad i had the chance. its hard to understand how much you can miss someone... but to spend the weekend up at augie was great, and definitely worth the 12 total hours of driving. hopefully things get even better in the future... and im sure they will.

as of the current moment, ive definitely slacked off and been distracted for some time. FIFA 98 on N64 has been a hit as of late, and am surprised to find so many decent players at this... wow, that is definitely old school. i have this frickin theory assignment due tomorrow at 2, which is not even done. of course i did the easy part, and i think i might wait for the hard part until tomorrow. i cant start screwin school up... especially since ive been doin so well! but besides that, im exhausted. i need a few more days off. definitely a few more days.

happy v-day!

well, im currently supposed to be at a meeting with my piano TA. but, me being the idiot that i am, forgot to ask where her office was. apperantly she doesnt have an office near the other TAs, and after looking all over smith for her office, it was no where to be found. mondays are great. bleh. i like to think that the weather outside really reflects the type of day, and its pretty crappy outside.

the last few days has been so so. a bunch of guys from the house hit up mardi gras, as the returned safely last night. heard they had a good time. but as for me, i enjoyed loafin around friday night. for lunch, me, wilbur, and a few other guys hit up some good ol texas bbq which was much more expensive than i thought, and didn't quite hit the spot. i remember it being alot better last time. afterwards, me and william went on to walmart for some badly needed shopping. we have blinds! boo ya! at night, there was a lil rush shindig up in the attic, and continued to venture over to brads to loaf some more. jensen and szerszen are mine next time in foosball. sunday consisted goin to the indiana v. illinois game w/ the band, and it was pretty fun! they were definitely playin flat, but they had their moments. this could be a really special year... in the evening i was semi-watching the superbowl which i wasnt too fond of the matchup. not exciting. bleh. and that was the feeling for the end of the day too. new week, push through these next few days, and see what the weekend has in store. i was thinkin yesterday and told bill, man, it would be great to play some bags. i miss those warm afternoons... but time will fly, and before i know it, BAM. warm weather. at least i hope so.

and sorry for my lacking of houswork and mail chair... im a slacker.
